The Planetarium at Science Museum Oklahoma takes you to the farthest reaches of the universe and beyond! The Planetarium is Oklahoma’s first public-access planetarium, going strong since 1958.

In addition, NASA’s Mural-sized Hubble Space Telescope Image, unveiled Jan. 11, 2006, is now permanently on display near the Planetarium at Science Museum Oklahoma!

Tonight's Sky

What’s that bright star over there? Or is that a planet? Where’s the North Star? What constellations can I see tonight? When is the next meteor shower? Locate and identify ancient constellations, planets, deep-sky objects and more!

The Kirkpatrick Planetarium offers a daily look at the night sky with the presentation of Tonight’s Sky. The professional staff of the Planetarium regularly updates the program to keep up with the ever-changing celestial sights in Oklahoma and the latest news from NASA and the astronomers around the world who study our amazing universe.

Find out what you can see in Tonight's Sky - you don't even need a telescope!

Ask the Celestial Wizard!

Have an astronomy question? Ask our celestial wizard Wayne! Simply fill out the form with your astronomy related question and he will answer even the toughest celestial brain busters!

Wayne "Celestial Wizard" Harris-Wyrick was born on the western slopes of eastern Ireland. As a small boy his obsession with "Nessy" the Loch Ness Monster and the moon lead him to life long pursuit to better understand the unknown and everything beyond the O-zone layer.

Wayne's life long dream to become the first man on planet Pluto was shattered just mere years ago as Pluto had its planetship revoked and Wayne in turn lost his desire. He has been quoted saying, "What's the point? No one cares about being the first one to set foot on an icy object!!”. Wayne has since changed goals and has now set out to be the first person to ride the Hailey's Comet.

Wayne has accomplished many things in his years of life. From writing various books such as "Celestial Wizarding it Up - Gettin Down and Lookin Up" to "Astrophysics for Dummies - but Still Smarter than Average People" to "The Real Life of Planetarium Director - Not Just a Man in a Dark Room". As well as founding Hobarts - School for Celestial Wizards and unicyclist. For more information about Wayne, refer to his Wikipedia pages "Loch Ness hunting and Comet Riding - the lost arts of the 21st century" or "Celestial Wizards of North America - This isn't no Harry Potter!"
